The ABS-CBN’s hit 90’s youth-oriented program, “Gimik” will have a reunion special entitled “Gimik 10” which will air on 2010.

Gimik starred Judy Ann Santos, Jolina Magdangal, Diether Ocampo, Dominic Ochoa, Marvin Agustin, Mylene Dizon, G. Toengi, LJ Moreno, Bojo Molina, Patrick Garcia, Diego Castro, among others. These stars are back to reprise their respective roles. The Gimik Reunion Special will be helmed by Direk Lauren Dyogi.

Are you excited to see the Kapuso stars back in ABS-CBN, although it is just for a limited engagement!

This popular Sharon Cuneta movie-turned-TV series will feature young actors such as Maxene Magalona, Patrick Garcia, Glaiza de Castro, and JC Tiuseco. Also joining them in the cast are Nonie Buencamino, Emilio Garcia, Joanne Quintas, Lovely Rivero, Jackie Rice, and Jace Flores. Jackie Lou Blanco, who portrayed the villain character Gladys in the original movie, is also included in the TV remake as the mother of Gladys.

Cast and character:

Maxene Magalona plays Maureen, the kind and diligent adopted daughter of Gilbert (Nonie Buencamino) and Clara (Jackie Lou Blanco). The character was originally played by Sharon Cuneta in the movie.

Glaiza de Castro plays Gladys, the spoiled and spiteful biological daughter of Gilbert (Nonie Buencamino) and Clara (Jackie Lou Blanco). She will be mean to Maureen (Maxene Magalona), whom she feels gets all her father’s love and attention. The character was originally played by Jackie Lou Blanco.

Patrick Garcia plays Arvin, a charming athlete who will fall in love with Maureen (Maxene Magalona). The character was originally played by Tonton Gutierrez.

JC Tiuseco plays Troy, Arvin’s cousin from the province who secretly loves Maureen. This is JC’s first starring role on television after winning the first season of Survivor Philippines. The character was originally played by Ricky Davao.

Jackie Rice plays Mercedita, the sister of Maureen (Maxene Magalona) who must decide whether to protect her sister from Gladys (Glaiza de Castro) or to follow her love for Troy (JC Tiuseco).

Jace Flores plays Dino, the bad boy who impregnates Gladys (Glaiza de Castro). The character was originally played by the late master rapper Francis Magalona.

Nonie Buencamino plays Gilbert, the kindhearted husband of Clara (Jackie Lou Blanco) who decides to adopt orphans Maureen (Maxene Magalona) and Mercedita (Jackie Rice).

Jackie Lou Blanco plays Clara, the spiteful wife of Gilbert (Nonie Buencamino). Unable to accept that her husband adopted two girls, she forces herself to become pregnant, even if it is dangerous given her heart condition.

In this story of competition between sisters, who will end up saying: “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat sa Akin?” Find out on Monday, June 22, as this soap opera premieres on GMA-7′s Dramarama sa Hapon.

“Of course naman siyempre, pero mas maganda sana pag live, di ba? Pero ayun, medyo nakakalungkot din, of course, kasi you’re longing to touch him. Pero, of course, one day I hope, kung maluwag sa loob ni Jennylyn and everything. Kumbaga, parang it’s too long na rin naman.”

Patrick Garcia also laments that contrary to the rumors, he made so many efforts to reach out to Jennylyn and their son:

“She knows the effort. Kumbaga, ang dami kong ginawang effort ever since she was pregnant pa lang.”

He also does not believe that Jennylyn’s media pronouncements that she is open now to Alex Jazz meeting up with his father:

“Parang I can still feel the ano, e…parang hindi pa rin welcome. Baka if I make a move, baka mamaya it will spark one more thing na hindi ko alam kung anong away na naman ito.”

On the subject of Jennylyn Mercado’s soon to be launched coffee table book. Patrick Garcia candidly said he would not buy the book to not rekindle the pain he also suffered. Patrick said: “Ahh, siguro hindi. Para hindi ko ma-feel ang pain…”

But Patrick approves of whatever public exposure that Jenylyn decides for their baby:

“Oo naman. I mean, she’s the mother. And she has all the right naman. For me, I see it in a different point of view na she’s proud to show our baby to the people.”

When asked if she greeted Jennylyn Mercado a Happy Mother’s Day?

“Hindi ko binati, I don’t have her number also. And I don’t think it will be… I sound plastic lang. Kumbaga, Happy Mother’s Day, tapos baka sabihin niya, ‘Sino ito?’” Patrick grins.
